At mooch we promote emerging and estabilished artists we usually run exhibitions over a period of 2 months and occasionally have evenings in store with the artist. Some of the artists exhibited are Debbie MacKinnon, Maree Coleman, Aleida Puller, Michellene Abrahamson, Mandy Francis, John Biggart, Matt Mainsbridge and many more. CURRENTLY FEATURING- DEBBIE MACKINNON Debbie Mackinnon is passionate about Art... since moving to Sydney from London in 1994, she has developed her own unique style of painting and continues to find inspiration in the stunning light and colours of Australia. Her fascination with the concept ‘nothing remains static’ is reflected in the multilayered nature of her paintings; her work combines elements of both drawing and painting to create distinctly contemporary works. Debbie is committed to at least one daily drawing - using her left hand although she is a right hander. This keeps her work lively and fresh, and moving in unexpected ways. Debbie grew up drawing and painting. She trained as an illustrator in London before a long and successful career in publishing where she wrote and designed many award winning children’s books. Nowadays, Debbie is either found drawing ‘en plein air’ in the wonderful Australian bush, working from a life model or knee deep in paint at her studio in Northbridge, Sydney. Debbie lectures part time at Billy Blue College of Design and runs regular workshops at her studio for the ‘Thursday Painters’ . www.debbiemackinnon.com
